Flat Log Please

There are lots of pairs of eye peeping above the soupy green algae, but only one brave sole has ventured onto a log today. I think perhaps it hasn't been quite warm enough, although that's about to change.

This guy looks as though his legs aren't long enough to touch the log. Why do they make round logs?

Down in the bottom right is a frog looking on.
