Ribble Valley

Drumming this morning, and a sociable coffee afterwards with some of the other drummers. Then home for a bite to eat before MrM and I set off to look at the artwork at some of the Fringe venues of Holmfirth Art Week. First stop was Choppards Mission, a little way out of the town, where there was a wide variety of amazing work. Somehow I managed to steer MrM past the cake on the way out! The Blip is the view down the Ribble Valley from outside the mission.

Back in Holmfirth we looked round the artwork in the Methodist Church Hall, and also had another browse around the main exhibition in the Civic Hall (where MrM succumbed to cake while I looked round for a little longer)..

Just time to drive home for a quick meal before catching the bus into Huddersfield for the jazz, but it didn't take long to discover that it had been cancelled. England are through to the semi-final of the Euros, and in each room of the pub football was showing on a big-screen TV! Trouble is, no-one had thought to let any jazz-goers know and several people turned up, some of whom had travelled a considerable distance. As we were there we had a couple of drinks, chatted with friends, and watched the match. England won!
