Day 5 Rhein Route

Day 5 Speyer to Worms, 56 km,
We left Speyer, beautiful blue sky, and were considering going to the Technik Museum, looks amazing, but would need a whole day. We pedaled to the Altrip ferry, and crossed to the east bank. It wad a bit rainy , but sat it out over lunch at a really nice restaurant. We carried on to Mannheim, had a very Quick Look, then passed Ludwigshafen. Lots of chemical plants to look at, BASF Ludwigshafen is about 5 km long. Got as far as Worms, then stayed at the Altes Ruderhaus, directly on the Rhein. Nice to stay actually on the Rhein at Worms, and watch the ships go past. We also racked up over 10,000 steps walking around Worms, it has an incredibly interesting Jewish history, there was a signed walk, which we followed. There were some amazing historical sites, but overall the city was a bit run down, and not much German culture left. We are back at the hotel on the Rhein, almost saw the sun go down.
