It was the official launch of the summer season this evening. Definitely cut down from previous years -- no banda, no grilled sausages or roast pork, just crisps, peanuts, salami, and cheese. I think the communal budget has been emptied by the ongoing sewerage works. Currently the workers are furiously trying to fill in all the massive holes in the roads -- they were supposed to be done and dusted two weeks ago.

Mayor Serge took the opportunity to unveil a plaque to Christophe, his deputy mayor who was brutally taken from us by a heart attack a few years ago (centre of this blip). I am certain he would have been our next mayor. Loads of people turned up for this, including his partner J-M, on the right of this blip. It was lovely to see him again. Appropriately the plaque is next to the bar -- C was a total party animal.

The event was heavier on wine than food, and it was a chilly evening with a blustery wind. We retreated home early to have some actual food.

There was a dramatic thunderstorm last night. Nevertheless, pool this morning ... air temperature 21C, water 25C. Bliss!
