Détente

Another overcast day, but there is plenty of colour in the meadows: drifts of Betony, Meadowsweet, Ragwort and Buttercup.

During today’s walk I accidentally flushed a Tawny Owl, which seemed to set off a chain reaction of disgruntled birds as the territorial détente in the woods broke down. 

Also, a nice little snack of wild raspberries (extra).

Despite the lack of sunshine I did see a fair few Meadow Brown and Ringlet butterflies, but that was mainly because I was wading through the long grasses where they hang about.
