Ailadeiladu

Ailadeiladu ~ Reconstruction

“You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for his own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.”
― Marie Curie

Pan oeddwn i'n ifanc roeddwn i'n arfer cerdded heibio'r lle adfeiliedig hwn gyda fy mam. Ar y pryd roedd yr adeilad mewn cyflwr da. Roedd yn stafell arddangos ceir o'r enw 'Wyndham Francis Motors', dwi'n cofio'r enw yn dda er mod i'n ifanc iawn. Os rydych chi'n dychmygu llais plentynnaidd yn canu 'Wyndham Francis Motors', dyna oeddwn i - bump oed.. Nawr dydw i ddim yn ffeindio un rhywbeth am y busnes o gwbl, heblaw eu diddymiad.

Yn ddiweddarach daeth yn Wasons, y lle DIY. Roedd yn ardderchog ar gyfer y rhan fwyaf o bethau yr oedd eu hangen arnom. Rydw i'n cofio dod â thuniau o baent yn ôl ar y beic. Roedd y paent mor drwm nes i godi llawer iawn o gyflymder wrth fynd i lawr yr allt a doedd dim angen pedlo o gwbl. Hyd yn oed ar ôl i mi gyrraedd gwaelod yr allt es i'r holl ffordd adref ar fomentwm. Roedd fel bod ar feic modur.. Rhywbryd ar ôl hynny caeodd y siop. Colled fawr i'r ardal. mae un Wasons ym Mhenarth o hyd, ac rydw i'n dipyn bach genfigennus.

Ers hynny mae'r adeilad wedi'i esgeuluso ac wedi syrthio i mewn arno'i hun. Roedd y syniad o werthu'r safle i Tesco, ond bu siopau lleol yn ymgyrchu yn ei erbyn. Felly yn hytrach mae'n pydru. Yn y pen draw bydd rhywbeth yn cael ei ailadeiladu yn ei le. Rydw i'n siŵr.

Yn siarad am ailadeiladu, ces i fy nhriniaeth gyntaf gyda cheiropractydd heddiw. Man nhw wedi ffeindio cwpl o bethau allan o le ac wedi eu popio i mewn. Mae'n ymddangos eu bod yn gwybod beth maen nhw'n ei wneud, felly rydw i wedi bwcio i gael mwy o driniaeth yr wythnos nesaf.

When I was young I used to walk past this ruined place with my mother. At the time the building was in good condition. It was a car showroom called 'Wyndham Francis Motors', I remember the name well even though I was very young. If you imagine a childish voice singing 'Wyndham Francis Motors', that was me - five years old.. Now I can't find one thing about the business at all, apart from their liquidation.

Later it became Wasons, the DIY place. It was excellent for most things we needed. I remember bringing cans of paint back on the bike. The paint was so heavy that I picked up a lot of speed going down the hill and there was no need to pedal at all. Even after I reached the bottom of the hill I went all the way home on momentum. It was like being on a motorbike.. Sometime after that the shop closed. A great loss to the area. there's still one Wasons in Penarth, and I'm a little jealous.

Since then the building has been neglected and has fallen in on itself. There was an idea to sell the site to Tesco, but local shops campaigned against it. So instead it rots. Eventually something will be rebuilt in its place. I'm sure.

Speaking of rebuilding, I had my first chiropractor treatment today. They've found a couple of things out of place and popped them in. They seem to know what they are doing, so I have booked in for more treatment next week.
