Blethers with Blip aristocracy

The main event of today was a lunch date with my blip friend Lady Findhorn, arranged swiftly yesterday quite a few years after our first more mysterious rendezvous beside the National Gallery in which featured a pair of pink jeans …

It is a token of the rather random existence we have here that it took us all our time to get out to catch an appropriate bus just after midday - though we redeemed ourselves by beating by about 15 minutes the time suggested by the Lothian Transport app to walk from Princes Street to Cafe Andaluz on George IV Bridge . As Himself remarked, we’re either doing well or on the verge of a heart attack.

Early though we were, Lady F was there before us, and the blethering began. It was a wonder, really, that we managed to concentrate for long enough to order food and drink, but we forced ourselves and food duly appeared. (Note to the fussy: the Pimentos di Padròn were a bit on the coarse side for this kind of treatment today - too many seeds!)

Three hours later we emerged, still talking. Life had been sorted and opinions aired and shared. Himself got several words in (it helps that he’s an Edinburgh boy) and future plans established. That’s two lovely blippers whose company I’ve enjoyed in the space of a week - life is fun.

A quick visit to the art shop and to Boots and we were back on the No 11 bus to Newhaven. I’ve closed all my exercise rings without actually trying - cities are extraordinary places.
