Gatekeeper...

A sunny day! And the local roads were all carnage it seems with accidents and roadworks popping up all over the place, so we decided against venturing out!

Went for a walk to the local shops and then to the horticultural hut where I got some white lavenders as I'm bored of buying bedding plants that the slugs/snails then just proceed to eat!!  I then had a little wander locally to spot more butterflies and lots of gatekeepers about - also saw peacocks, commas, meadow browns, marbled whites, skippers, red admiral... and still no bee activity.

ooh and the ripe blackberries in the hedges were rather tasty - a bonus of being out this time of year!  there's a real mix of some ripe, and many not ready yet! Just as confused as us with the weather!
