Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Early Morning Stretch

Mr. Fun & I leave the cabin early each morning while everyone else is snoozing. Well, our son-in-law is accustomed to early rising too because he works at a very large construction company as vice president over plumbing and electrical. He oversees and supervises 300+ employees so his mornings usually start before the sun is up, so this week he's enjoying the opportunity to wake a little later.

This morning when little Tristan woke, our son-in-law, his Uncle John, wrapped him in his hooded sweatshirt because he couldn't find Tristan's little jacket and the two of them came to the shoreline to join us. They stopped at the coffee bar in the dining hall to get John some coffee and Tristan a hot chocolate.

I had many other wonderful photos of the scenery and even on of the sun breaking through the clouds and glinting on the ocean, but this week really has been all about family, so this photo won my vote. Tristan will never be this age again at this place; this was a special early morning photo. Even though Tristan's mom couldn't be with us this week at camp, we're having a very good time and so is Tristan. He just might be the poster boy for "It takes a village" . . . because he sure has had a whole lot of family love and nurture him and his mommy does a fabulous job of doing that too.

Good night from Campus By the Sea on Catalina Island where we're enjoying family camp in a very unique and special way.
