Sally Mair - Loving life

Busy Busy

I went into town around 12 on the bus for my Clarin's appointment, it wasn't till after 2 but I'd a few things to do. I started to feel rather strange both on the bus and after I got off, at M&S. I wondered if perhaps I hadn't had enough to eat so after some indecision I finally settled on the Guildford Arms for some lunch. My blip is of the view down from their gallery restaurant into the bar area. Like the Cafe Royal the Guildford is one of those places you need to know is there, in the lanes beside Register House, you don't stumble on it by accident -in fact I don't know why I'm giving away its location.
I opted for a delicious fish pie - the menu is largely staples - which came with fresh veg and potatoes.
The French couple next to me were very excited about their mackerel salad starter and took several pictures of it.
Into JL where I didn't bump into Blipper Marchmont, who I see was also there. I had a bonus with my appointment today, a free add on half hour facial. I was very relaxed when I came out and of course looked absolutely stunning! :-)
I'd come to the conclusion that the way I was feeling may have been down to my new glasses. I took the tram out to the Gyle where Colin came and met me, bringing my old glasses and my other new pair. The glasses were very thoroughly checked over and adjusted. I have another appointment tomorrow afternoon for a repeat eye test. I've always had very good service from this branch of Specsavers.
Back home I texted Katy to see if she would like to be picked up and brought home. Although her shoulder is not dislocated, she's obviously not up to cycling. She accepted gratefully so I shot up to Little France and drove her home.
Back home in time for dinner then we watched the football. It's extraordinary how much better the games have been in these knockout rounds.
Thank you all for your sympathy for Katy yesterday. Coming off your bike at 20mph it's never a good experience. Thank goodness for helmets.
