Stable

Kodo -O-Daiko

A Sumo stable has been training next door to my apartment building for the last two weeks or so. It’s pretty cool to hear them training in the morning doing their usual exercise routines then sparring. They usually finish at 11am and ceremoniously clean up the ring.

Today I woke up a little early to prepare for my Japanese exam and went to the convenience store with the Mrs. Being Sunday, everyone was out watching the sumo train. With 30-33 degree heat and a tonne of humidity, my hats off to the stable for their dedication and training. It’s great to watch.

The exam went as well as it could. I should have slept more as my focus was all over the place by the 4th hour. Although the sections are about 30-70 minutes (three sections), it took ages to bring out the exams and answer sheets and confirming everyone’s identity. There were about 1000+ people in the exam hall, so fair play. I was there from 12-6pm. Taxing to say the least.

Anyways, I’m better off having taken the exam and will probably take it again in December. Fingers crossed for a good result.
