Too Darned Hot!

Oh boy, 102F/39C today...way too hot. 
My granddaughter and I had a terrific time last night - we made a picnic dinner that required no cooking, and then watched girl movies till we were too tired. She was up early this morning (therefore I was too) and after breakfast we took the golf cart to do various watering duties. This photo of my raised veggie bed is literally the only one I took today. Everything is growing well - we've kept the beds well watered and the tomatoes and peppers are growing by leaps and bounds, heat lovers that they are.

It is my son's birthday today - my only child, and father of my two amazing grandchildren. So my granddaughter and I went to the grocery store to get ingredients for lunch - we made tacos (a crowd fave) and got a carrot cake, which was delicious! A grand time was had by all. Then we played in the pool for a couple of hours. Just what we all needed to cool down!

A little bit cooler tomorrow, only 92F/33C.
