A Long Day

This is a picture which was on the wall at the Sutter Medical center (three floors above where I went for knee replacement surgery) where we went this morning for an 8am appointment with John's neurologist. 8am is not a good time for me to be across town and at my best, but I guess it was better than the 6:30am appointment at the surgery center. (Although I didn't feel any particular necessity to be at my best for that)

As it turns out I wasn't at my best for John's appointment because we were there to get results from a report from a doctor he saw two months ago and they didn't have it. Attempts to reach said doctor were unsuccessful. Although I let them know that although I understood that it wasn't their fault, we were still pretty pissed off.

Back home we took our Pilates-on-the-floor class which the others had kindly postponed for an hour. Not long after that was over, Pedro delivered a load of dirt, er, soil and the new plants for the front of the house. Then Dana came by to help us figure out how they should be placed.

Not too long after that, we had to head out again across town to an appointment with Spike's eye doctor. She was running late so rather that wait in the foyer where Spike isn't allowed to sit on the couch, knows other dogs are around and won't settle down, John waited in the car with Spike and I waited in the foyer. John is better at (man)handling Spike and I am better at remembering what his doctors tell him so we make a pretty good team.

We stopped off at the market on the way home for sushi and prepared dinners because I knew that by the time we got home, I would be done .
We have now finished our sushi on the porch, too tired to do anything but watch the bird show at the feeders and throw Spike's Kong. He was, by the way, pronounced excellent by his eye doctor and we don't have to return for a year. They all love him there.
