' On the moor

Gathering clouds over the Southern end of Lochindorb.

The extra shows the bell heather coming into bloom along the track to Drumroy. Queen Victoria reputedly thought the bright purple of Bell Heather to be a tad vulgar.

The trackside ditch contained bright red sundew and lime green butterwort leaves ( both carnivorous  - small dog beware) and the starry yellow spikes of Bog asphodel and bright spearwort flowers. There was an abundance of fragrant thyme and occasional milk worth 'blue as summer skies'. A delightful walk with not another human being in sight.
