LUNCHTIME!

We were surprised to see a corral full of several horses when driving by the Michigan State University horse barns today. The signs around the property said they were having an Agriculture Expo - this weekend, I think - so the extra horse population might be related to the Expo. We found a driveway to park in as there was no way to stop on the side of the busy road. This mare noticed me walking over to the fence and started coming right toward me. Her hungry foal came trotting close behind, not about to let its lunch get away. The mother seemed to expect me to be someone she knew, but when I didn't speak or call for her, she stopped a bit short of the fence. Lucky for me, they stopped fairly close by and then started nursing. My blip opportunity for sure!

I had driven past these MSU barns recently (also at the same time of day), and there wasn't a horse in sight, so I was thrilled to see so many today. Perhaps they were out mid-day because it was a bit cooler today. Lucky for me that my favorite blip assistant was driving so I didn't drive off the road in my excitement of spotting all the horses.
