More churches

We have visited three churches today, all from the 1600s, just like yesterday's church. And all of them were incredibly painted, both walls and ceilings were full of biblical motifs.
But, I, who like church angels, got very satisfied when I saw the organ in the first church. Absolutely wonderful.
Extras: In the same church there was a painting on the Tower of Babel. I have never seen that in a church before, so fun.
What is it that is interesting in the next photo, you wonder. You see the stick, right? It is a "church poker" (= kyrkstöt on Swedish, I do not know the correct English word for this). I do not know if it has existed in other countries, but it has definitely existed in Swedish churches. The churchwardens went and poked it at people who had fallen asleep during the sermon, which could go on for a few hours. It is not used nowadays:-)
In the next church I got hooked on the clock. It is very unusual to have a clock in a church.
In the last church, I liked the leaves in all corners and the cute sconces with little angel heads.

Tomorrow it will be something completely different from churches. :-) Just wait and see.

If anyone wants to know, the first three photos are from Bottnaryd's church, the clock is in Habo church and the last photo is from Brandstorp's church.
