Partially Hiding

Since buying my new macro lens previously favourite 100-500mm zoom has spent most of the time in the camera bag. So today I quickly cobbled together some lunch and  headed over to Bushy Park for the afternoon in the hope of seeing deer and perhaps some butterflies.

At this time of the year the "boys and girls" stay strictly apart. I did see a couple of adult does with definitely teenage fawns around, but is was mainly groups of stags of all ages lounging around (as men do - oops did I say that? LOL!)

It was good to see a few more butterflies around, even if the sun was hiding behind a bank of clouds (fortunately the rain held off until I got back to the car). In particular the small skippers were enjoying the meadows (extra).

This young fallow deer stag was eying me warefully through the long grass perhaps hoping he was hidden, but I could still see him, if only partially.
