A perfect day
We have so many beautiful gardens here in south west Scotland with specialist plants and historical gardens having benefited from this Gulf Stream microclimate. We have a local gardeners group who visit the gardens published in Scotland’s Open Garden schemes and also support each other to host our garden meetings. It’s lighthearted and social and we also learn about local horticultural history. Today we visited Woodfall Gardens at Whithorn. (Which we almost bought) - a 3 acre Victorian pleasure garden. Having picnicked there we made our way to Craichlaw - a beautifully restored garden surrounding a 16th century keep. A full and wonderful sunshiny day in beautiful surroundings catching up with friends.
I’ve chosen a shot from Woodfall of meconopsis grown from seed by my delightful friend- I’ve never seen meconopsis of this colour.
