I haven’t been up to see the chaps for so long (can it really be 6 August last year?), if anything I seem to have been avoiding it, disheartened.
Anyway, it seemed like the best day to go along and do a celebratory cycle along the full length of the west shore with a victory punch of the air and a wave as I rounded the ‘treacherous’ (according to UU) Rough Crag … thank goodness I had my cycle helmet on ; )
Not only that but by cycling I saved myself from putting money in their shareholder coffers for parking.
I was the only one up at Harrop for a swim except for flipping fish, skimming house-martins, darting dragon and damselflies, profusions of orchids, bog asphodel and water lilies.
I told them about the change in government. They’d both be delighted but I’m glad they aren’t having to witness all the horrors.
The Chippy van was in the village when I got back so I treated myself.
