Lossiemouth Beach

It was a much nicer morning, so after I had finished my book, TT and I went out for a walk.  We walked along the beach, with thoughts of walking up to the graveyard on the cliffs, but the path was just too steep and wet, making it pretty much impossible.  We did walk right along the beach though, however coming back across the burn, I got a wet foot.  We then just walked back through the house to our cottage.

We didn’t have a clear plan for today, but TT did want to go to the whisky shop in Elgin, so off we went to Elgin.  It was raining by the time we got there.  First thing we did was go to the bakers, and the second thing we did was to go for a lunch, and very nice it was too.  The third thing we did was to pay a visit to Gordon and MacPhail where purchases were made.  We then wandered around the town for a wee while in the rain.  We stopped off in the bookshop – which had a leak, so there was as much water inside as outside.  The rain eased, so we walked along the river Lossie to Cooper Park, wandered past the cathedral and back round again.  We then had a wee drive around by Burghead and Hopeman, stopping off in Lossiemouth for a wander.  The last few times we have been in Lossiemouth the beach has been inaccessible, but the new bridge is in place, so we made use of it and had a beach walk, watching jets going round and round.  The beach was pretty much deserted, no doubt due to the dreich day.

We then drove home and found BB studying, but of course we have no idea what time he got up, nor how long he had been studying – but it was a positive sign!

After tea, TT took himself off to watch another James Bond movie.

This is Lossiemouth Beach this afternoon.  The extra shows seagulls sitting on the remains of the old bridge.
