SIMple experiment

My mother's new flat hasn't got it's fiber internet connection installed yet, and the O2 network she uses (Tesco mobile) and I use (direct with O2) is terrible there.  So I found the cheapest "pay as you go" SIM I could for each network and tried them in turn with a signal strength app until I found a network (EE) and location (dining room window) with a decent signal, then used that SIM (1pMobile) to set up a hotspot.  All working with 20-30Mbps, which is about the same BT gave her at her last house.  That should tide her over until the fiber installation!

I may experiment more with different SIMs in remote places in the next week or so, so I've put them all safely in a tin along with a pin to eject the sim slot of my test phone!
