Under Canvas

We headed north today to go to one of the many Under Canvas Sessions which Eden Court hold in the summer. Given the frequent and heavy downpours we were glad it was under canvas.

First up were The North Atlantic Project with members from Alaska and Scotland who played a laid back set with tunes and a couple of songs from Scotland and America.

Next up was Evie Waddell.  Evie sings in Scots and Gaelic, including songs she has written herself.  She is also deaf in one ear and integrates BSL into her performance.  I really enjoyed seeing her perform live and was pleased that VP who introduced me to her work was also there with husband. A fun afternoon.

We had arrived in Inverness in good time which gave me time to go grave hunting - specifically that of Ella Alexander in Tomnahurich Cemetery.  There was a pin with the exact location on Find My Grave which meant that a minimal amount of hunting was required. She is one of the Alexander Sisters whom I have written about before.
