Family time
Backblip for Wednesday 26/6. My eldest brother-in-law G is 87 and still very fit and healthy. As a retired farmer and a talented carpenter he still helps out locally and does a lot of work at home and in the garden. He and S, my sister-in-law, live in a pretty farm cottage between Pateley Bridge and Ripley with a beautiful large garden divided up into several areas - lawns, woodland, vegetable patches, chicken runs etc and surrounded by rolling farmland. My photos don't do it justice at all. I hadn't seen them for 8 years since my husband's funeral for several reasons - mainly transport based, and they are not exactly on a bus route! A lady in our community choir is also related to them and said she would love to see them, so we arranged a date and she gave me a lift :-). It was a lovely warm day so we were able to sit outside in the lovely garden. We ended up staying for lunch, and talked non-stop. We had a lovely time. S and I like a couple of glasses of wine, so the next invitation is to stay over so that we can talk longer and have a few drinks :-)). A good drive back through the beautiful North Yorkshire scenery, and I was dropped off at the local in time for 3 & Go with friends!
