oops

Today's photo was taken from the car window as I was driven back to college campus by colleague friends after spending a couple of hours at Istanbul government hospital.  Unfortunately, whilst walking - well, striding out - to try and catch the 12.40 ferry, I tripped and had a spectacular somersault fall, landing sideways on the pavement, and smacking the side of my head on the concrete. Stunned, I laid there for a few moments then passers by helped me walk the short distance back to campus, where  a security guard drove me to the school's health centre, quickly followed by summer school colleagues who appeared by magic and took me to the state hospital.  After minimal waiting, a doctor had a look and then one CT scan and an inspection from the eye doctor later,, and, I am relieved to say that other than the shakes from shock, and a bit dizzy, which lasted most of the afternoon, I seem to be ok, no major damage but I have one hell of a black eye developing - and ache all down my right side where I landed.  Back home and Sean kindly went to the supermarket for me to get a few basics as I had no food in (I was going shopping when I fell) and I spent the evening watching Netflix.  I have to go back to the eye doctor very early tomorrow morning for a check.. 

What wonderful colleague friends I am so lucky to have. taking such good care of me this afternoon - as well as the medical staff at the hospital. In future I think I'll walk slow and catch the next ferry.
