SILLY SQUIRREL

The little squirrel was back this morning.  He ignored the nuts and was more intent on scoffing the seed.  He started off by clinging to the pole  with his feet and his head was in the feeder.  He stayed like this for a while. Then he climbed into the feeder.  When he had finished there was very little left for the birds to eat.  Thanks to KangaZu for hosting Silly Saturday in memory of Admirer.

After breakfast I made another batch of mini quiche muffins to eat while watching the football this evening.

I needed some food shopping and to collect a parcel so this afternoon I walked to the village.  It was drizzling as I left the house but gradually the rain got worse and worse.  On my way home it turned into a thunderstorm. The rain was torrential.  I was soaked by the time I reached my front door.  It was only 4.30pm but I decided to get into my PJ's straight way.

Sorted out the shopping and by 5pm I was in front of the TV ready to watch the football.  England V Switzerland.  England played better than they have done in the  previous matches.  However the first goal was scored by Switzerland after 75 mins. England were able to equalise on the 80th minute.  At full time the score was 1 - 1.  Extra time was played ..... no more goals . So it was a penalty shoot out.  Nail biting to watch as each player took a shot. All 5 England players scored with their penalty kicks but one Swiss player had his shot saved.  So England came out as winners and go forward to the Semi Final on Wednesday where they face the Netherlands..
