Diary of an Edinburgher

Do it again!

Listened to the England v All Blacks rugby in NZ this morning. Don’t normally listen to sport, but really, it was quite an exciting game. Non stop action, very close score, anybody’s game right to the last gasp. MUCH more exciting than, say, football, where a 0 - 0 score is not uncommon. (The ABs won).

Once Archie had gone out with Elizabeth, we set off into town to spend our VM windfall on a nice lunch. We went to Gaucho, never been before, and it was great. You really can’t beat a good steak. Unless, of course, you’re a vegetarian. Excellent service by a young man from a small country in West Africa (didn’t catch the name) but had lived in Italy for 20 years, and now lives here. And loves it.

There was quite a heavy shower when we came out, and everybody just sheltered for a while till it was over. I came home, but JR wanted to browse some more. Now there’s a surprise…

I caught some of the tennis, then the England/Switzerland Euros game. England scraped through again!

A new shop has opened in the block, and the owners have been working on the paint job for weeks. But it’s a conservation area, so gaudy colours just won’t do! Check out the sign.
