Fox, grapes, and a new (old) bird

I found the embroidery in the right of this shot when I was at Mummy hazelh's house on Wednesday. It's a sampler that Mummy hazelh made in December 1958. It uses ten different stitches: back, blanket, buttonhole, chain, couching, feather, fly, herringbone, satin, and stem. I framed it this afternoon, then found a place for it next to Fox and grapes in our sitting room.

I have spent most of the day pottering around the house and garden. This has (inevitably) included some Mummy hazelh admin, and 'discussion' with my sisters. Mr hazelh and I also popped out of the house together this afternoon to drop off donations at two charity shops and enjoy a coffee/tea date at the OQO coffee nook.

As I type, Mummy hazelh and Mr hazelh are watching England play Switzerland in their quarter final fixture in the Euros. I fear that this may all end in penalties and disappointment (again). It ended in penalties and England won!

Exercise today: small amount of gardening and walking (9,085 steps).
