"Uneventful" would
best describe my wee jaunt this
morning - great sunshine!

I drove into McArthur Island Park before 6 as the sun was coming in between the trees. I looked down the east arm of the slough and across the river to Rabbit Island and the south shore. I caught a solitary duck posing in the slough.

There seemed to be a great deal of human activity in the park for so early on a Saturday morning. There were men out lining the playing fields, food vendors already in place and the lot behind the recreation centre was filled with recreation vehicles that had set up overnight. I think there must be some tournament event here for the weekend.

I got a look at my mountains and onto the river to the downtown.

The marmots were already out scampering in the grass. I caught one sunning himself on a stump. Another stopped for a scratch. Two siblings came close hoping for a snack.

The heat is rising this week with a heat warning issued for our area. I will be in hiding each afternoon until it's over.
