Thursday - Wet, Windy and Cold!

It’s a sad way of doing when you are wearing the clothes you wore in winter in Summer !

We had a very lazy type of day in Star Na Mara (the name of our house). We had food, we played games (Ticket to Ride) and did a jigsaw. I did some knitting too.

There was a small window where the rain stopped so I grabbed the opportunity to have a walk down to the beautiful beach with stunning little coves and the white sand is covered in shells. Today marks one year since I got the call at our holiday house near Aviemore from Morag to say that Mum had pancreatic cancer. There is a lot of emotions at certain times just now. I had a lovely walk just taking in the beauty and remember good times. I could almost feel Mum around me.

Later we went to Mallaig for our tea to the Clachain Inn and had fabulous food. Sitting next to us were a couple from Indiana and we had a great chat with them. He was a trucker with a very bushy ginger beard. She was a warm hearted woman. I could tell that right away she had the kindest of eyes and he was a gem too. Funny how you just click with people you have just met. I do love a great interesting and warm blether. Lucca was a big hit with the waitress she was fussed over very much.

Home and watched Andy and Jamie on the doubles at Wimbledon. They were beaten . It was a real surprise to see Sue Barker come out and greet Andy with a tribute to him. My tears flowed for a good while, it’s such a shame his body is wrecked as his mind still wants to play.

I like Andy, he has a great dry sense of humour and I would say Scotland’s greatest sportsman. He will be missed. Only Joko left now of four that battled and entertained us for about 10 years, or round about that. Mum loved the tennis, big supporter of Andy but a big soft spot for Rafa.
