Independence Day in the USA

Our two portland families shared the fourth at our new home here. We had a bbq and all contributed. There were veggie burgers, impossible burgers and meat burgers and hot dogs. Potato salad and Cole slaw and Asian salad. Grilled veggies ( that I never got !) , and chips and relish trays and dips. Big R made my mom’s blueberry belle crunch and topped it vanilla ice cream. We toasted to the preservation of our democracy which is very much in peril presently .
Afterwards we played the game mafia , then passed instruments out and sang goofy songs and ended with “Firework” bubbles that we thoroughly enjoyed ! It was a great time and even Branch participated .
A much needed fun evening for all of us to enjoy our own company and family time.
