Angel's Fishing Rods

Dierama pulcherrimum, with Lotus hirsutus in the foreground.  Each one was raised from seed sown while I was still living in Norwich.  Young plants of each were planted in this spot four years ago and have thrived, the Dierama especially.  It is, however a difficult plant to photograph with the stems waving in the breeze and it's natural spreading habit.

A catch up day at home plus an incident packed dog walk and an evening at pottery.  The walk, with C and the Megs, was great, with the dogs often tearing around the field playing chase.   Unfortunately as we headed back to the cars, my Meg ran straight at us instead of around like her friend.  Colliding with my left leg or the subsequent fall popped my left knee out momentarily.   It's happened before as both knees have 'loose, stretchy,' tendons but usually it's after much exercise or the result of an unfortunate twist.  It's very painful initially, I have been known to swear out loud.  Much!   I don't think I did today but I did lie on the ground for a while until the initial sharp pain had subsided a bit.  Now at the other end of the day I am just very sore.  It will need pain killers and some care for a while.

The evening at pottery was a glazing session for me.  Several pieces progressed, none finished.  The highlight was provided by a fellow potter who brought buckets full of cut flowers and proceeded to make bouquets for everyone present.  What a wonderful present!  Extra pic :-)
