Collared Dove ( Streptopelia decaocto )

Obviously the important event of the day was to get out and cast our vote in the General Election.  In our constituency one party has been pushing hard for votes we have had at least two canvassers, masses of leaflets, then tonight a visitor checking we had been able to get out and vote.  I have to say however I have had more action from this one as a prospective candidate that all my previous MPs and all because of a passing remark to one of the canvassers.

Regular readers will know I have a soft spot for various species.  The Collared Dove is one of them.  A species which has arrived in my life time, not bred until I was 9.  Now found all over the country.
