Kitchen Gardening

It’s been a warm and sunny day here and with rain forecast for tomorrow, it was a day for being outside.

This is the productive part of the garden. It’s only a small area but it gives a lot of pleasure and we get a steady flow of vegetables, salads and herbs from it in the summer months. It has a few raised beds, a mini greenhouse and planters. Most of the vegetables are growing at the allotment but it’s handy to have some in easy reach of the garden where I can give them more attention and get a few last minute additions to meals. It also helps spread the risk of plants being lost to pests and diseases!

The day has been one of dog walks, gardening and a trip to the allotment to pick more raspberries - they are nearly finished now but the red currants and boysenberries are also ripe. I voted by post so I’ve not visited a polling station today.

Grateful:
- To chat with neighbours and meet their two week old baby.
- To have two hours gardening this afternoon. This included potting on my tomato plants into some larger planters.
- To hear from Andy who had a good round of golf.
