Grim's Dyke

This Grade II* listed building is best known as the former home of W S Gilbert, the librettist of the Gilbert and Sullivan partnership. The house was built between 1870 and 1872 and is named after a nearby prehistoric  earthwork known as Grim's Ditch.  It is sometimes used as a location for film and television, but is now a hotel.

It has extensive grounds and, on both our visits, we have promised ourselves to come back and explore them more.  Maybe we will, sometime.
