Out and About

Well done the RAC

We've been having problems with the little 12v battery in our less than 2 year old electric car.  For those with normal cars, I will explain that the 12v is like the one in your car but it controls the ignition, the parking brake and the rest of the instruments. If its flat you can't start the car and you can't push the car because you can't get the brake off.
Last week at Whitbarrow we couldn't start the car because the 12v  battery was too low. We called the RAC who told us they would be 4 to 5 hours!. Forget that,  We borrowed come jump leads from a nearby garage and "jumped" off a friend. . All was good and we forgot about it.
Wind forward to this week. The same thing happened. We got back from our walk and couldn't start the car because the 12v was flat. Even with  the newly purchased jump leads, we failed to start the car. Completely dead.   I left Mr P booking the car into the garage and ringing the RAC and went home to get him refreshments and reading matter to while away the afternoon. But when I got back- 30 mins later the RAC man was already there and had started the car. What a relief.
It now has a brand new 12v battery free of charge under the guarantee.
