Castlerigg Stone Circle

We left for home after coffee and a wander round Beethams Nurseries with our friend C, drove up through the Lakes then began to look for somewhere suitable for our picnic lunch. 

Even on a Tuesday in early July everywhere seemed very busy so we thought Castlerigg, outside Keswick,  might be quieter - but no, even there the roadside parking was surprisingly almost full. We snuck in anyway then joined the merry throng around the stones.

From experience I knew that a photo of the entire circle is difficult enough so didn't even attempt it with so many people around; this single one with Mr Flum sheltering from the wind is enhanced by my phone's capability to erase background people who were distracting, so I removed all of them. 

Then it was off again, a brief stop to purchase basic supplies and home. Our neighbours and Miss Flum have kept the post cleared and the plants green so all is well
