The grittier side of life

The male reed bunting's setting is much too busy for my taste, but what the image does show, is the bird picking up tiny bits of grit which it takes down into its crop where they help it to digest the seeds that it eats. (You may need to look in large to see the tiny bit of grit it is holding in its beak).
