oldest town in Colorado

Today hubby and I drove back home from Santa Fe, NM, making our way through the San Luis Valley of Colorado.
The little white building on the lowest mesa at the curve in the road is a church that was built by settlers to the area in 1851. They dedicated it to Saint Louis, and so the town bore the name San Luis. The town itself is quite small, 750 people, and sits hidden behind the mesa.
