A funny face
I had a big shock this morning - my cousin R rang to let me know her big sister, my lovely cousin J died in the night. J has had Alzheimer’s for a few years and has had to live in a care home for the last two. She was very unhappy and angry. It was awful really. I talked to R and later to J’s son about great memories I have of her from when I was tiny until just before she became ill, a period of about 60 years. I think they both have disproportionately difficult memories from recent times.
Of course I was feeling very sad, so I went to my allotment and worked hard for 90 minutes. My new strategy. As I was putting stuff in my car, I got chatting to my nice neighbours opposite, with a 3 year old and a just 1 year old. J the older one picked me a few flowers from their front garden - so I came back in to put them in a tiny vase. Later on I WhatsApped him this photo, apparently it made him laugh which is what I intended. A nail-biting England match in the evening. Slovakia were much better, but England got two lucky goals.
