Uppark, West Sussex
Another lovely, sunny day, although not as hot as earlier in the week and with some clouds appearing in the afternoon, much to everyone's surprise after so many glorious days:-)
We took Mum in law to visit Uppark today, a beautiful Georgian manor house near Petersfield in West Sussex. Doesn't it look just like the model for so many doll's houses? Funnily enough, inside the house there is a huge model of a doll's house which dates back to the 18th century too and looks very much like this:-)
A lot of the original house was destroyed by a major fire in 1989, but most of the Georgian contents were saved by the family and staff and the house has been beautifully restored by the National Trust.
We had a picnic under the trees, a tour of the manor house and then tea on the lawn afterwards. A lovely way to spend such a lovely day! Hope your day was good too.
