Grumpy Old Man

Cool ferns

Not a bad day today, varying between overcast and blue sky with scattered clouds. I decided to do my Sunday litter-pick in the morning in case it rained later, and set off for my usual round, beginning at McCaig's Tower, down Jacob's Ladder, along the street below and back up via Star Brae and Taylor's Brae, with a few diversions in between.  A good day - only half a bag of rubbish, though quite a bit of broken glass.

Had lunch outside with the company of Susie. It was quite hot in the one patch of sun and Susie found herself a spot in the shade. I grabbed her for my Blip - it reminded me of the scenes in 'It Ain't Half Hot, Mum' where the punkah wallahs kept the bosses cool - in this scene it's a fern frond!

Wrote my regular blog for the Scotland's Gardens Scheme website and managed a bit of gardening. Mrs M weeded between the paving slabs for which I was grateful as my knees are not very fond of kneeling at the moment!

Quote of the Day: 'People who drop litter really stress me out. I have been known to chase after people and say, 'Sorry, but you've forgotten something,' and then hand it back to them.' -  Ainsley Harriott.
