She’s in Fashion

A lovely evening out with some of my (always style conscious) book club gang to hear fashion historian and blogger Eleanor Medhurst talking about her new book ‘Unsuitable: A History of Lesbian Fashion’. The book covers a range of looks and geographies including 17th century Sweden, 19th century Britain, Japan in the early 1910s, Harlem in the 1920s, pre-war Paris and Berlin and several times and places before and since. Great interview questions from Joan Burnett - Liverpool’s very own doyenne of all things arts and cultural - and a very engaged audience.
