Friendly Little Robin

Today we woke up to clouds and the threat of rain. Unfortunately we also had to move to a different site as we had tacked on a couple of extra nights instead of travelling further. Then it did actually rain with thunder and lightning for a couple of hours. LV and I managed to visit the boulangerie and bring back some pain aux raisins as L was having a lie in. We did finally move the BK and LV’s tent down the path to our new site still overlooking the mighty Loire!

Later on we ventured out to the Caves Champignonniere de Saut aux loups. This is a series of troglodyte caves with a tour around their mushroom cultivation including Paris mushrooms, Shiitake and Oyster mushrooms. We purchased some Paris mushrooms that I added to a sauce to go with lamb steaks, jersey royal potatoes and peas. This was accompanied by a lovely Primitivo wine from LV’s company. The rain has stayed away for the rest of the day. See bgleyna’s blip for a pic from the mushroom caves.

We had this very friendly robin who later landed on my foot a couple of times as we provided bits of bread to feed it!
