As we’ve never seen it
All the time we have spent in France over the years and we have never been here at this time of year. When we came with our young girls it was always August, when we were at last free of the restrictions of school holidays, we started coming in September and October. So it feels like a different country now - so much green, so many crops growing, so many flowers.
I love seeing Veronica’s photos of vines through the year
https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3245133614765051054 My picture is a view of vines as we have never seen them and wildflowers which have always finished by the time we arrived in the past.
And so we have arrived at our Petit Gite, which is not very ‘petit’ at all - it is spacious and perfect. We are going to be very comfortable here for a week now - Gordon has his own pool and I have a table outside in the shade. We’ve done some shopping and gathered in some wine (hence the vineyard), tomorrow we plan to go to a local market. And now I’m about to pour a glass of Crémant. It has been very warm and humid all day and we’ve had a little rain, but now it is cooler.
