You know . . .
. . . you are in France when you can stop off, whilst travelling, at a small town, park for free and then find a café with lots of tables outside, but well shaded from the sun.
Then you are welcomed by a very jovial guy who, although it looks full, magically finds you a table. An extensive lunch menu but most people seem to be having bowls of salad, some from the Specials board which is brought to you. We both decide on salad and they were both delicious - not mountains of lettuce, but a range of different leaves and lots of other fresh veg. The chèvre chaud I had with mine was perfect. Iced water and bread brought to the table. And he’s still going - chatting with locals, joking with non-locals, persuading some to have desserts, which looked wonderful but we just had coffee, finding tables for newcomers and waving to those leaving.
We are now near Bergerac and almost at our final destination and it is very hot. Another Logis, a bit more luxurious (we are very grateful for the air conditioning) than the previous two but with less character. Hopefully the food will be just as good. (The map shows where we are, not where I took the picture.)
