Orange Hawkweed

A grey and damp day….not done a right lot!

We did pop to Wetherby first thing to stock up on food for a family gathering tomorrow…hoping for some better weather as we are doing a barbecue. If it rains it may well turn into a ‘indoor’ barbecue…ho hum.

The damp weather meant I never made it to the beer festival in the next village…didn’t fancy supping pints in the rain and walking home wet! :-(

This bright orange wild flower is growing profusely in the old lay-by north of the village….it is fantastic colour. I do note, however, that it is considered invasive in the UK. I also note, with dismay, that we have some growing at the front of the house….so I may have to get digging!
