Ffin y Parc

Having missed the opening night of the current exhibition - yet again - we visit Ffin y Parc in Llandudno to view the work of two more Welsh Artists. They couldn’t be more different; Meirion Ginsberg’s portraits are rich in primary colours, often reminding me of Frida Kahlo’s work while Matthew Woods focuses on natural light illuminating interiors of buildings with naturalistic detail. It’s the latter that I’ve blipped today, set against the beautifully gilded wall of the gallery. There are several paintings that I’d love to buy, but we’re disciplining ourselves to one artwork a year!

Other than that, we visit a local residential home as a possible alternative for G’s mum. It’s very welcoming, has an excellent ethos putting the needs and requests of residents first, but in terms of accommodation it’s so inferior to what she has now. We arrange for her to visit next week - but we really don’t think she’ll want to make the journey when it comes down to it. We’re hoping that she’ll see that what she has right now is best, but time will tell.
