The Dresden Zwinger Palace Museum

The Zwinger was a Baroque Palace built by Augustus the Strong. Main photo shows the historic golden crown at the Zwinger palace with a small view of some of the massive reconstruction work taking place in the courtyard.

The museum includes the Porcelain Collection, Old Masters Picture Gallery and the Royal Cabinet of Mathematical and Physical Instruments.
In the Extra I have included the centrepiece of the dinner service produced for General Marshal Count Burchard Christoph von Muennich. Made in Meissen, 1738, by Johann Joachim Kaendler. That is nearly 300 years ago.

The visit to the interior of the Opera House was fine, and motivated me to have a second look at the exterior photo that I posted yesterday. I did find a better one taken early in the day yesterday, and so I have changed it! Onwards again tomorrow.
