Just Joey
I went up to the Atrium to pop some cards in the stand, and Smithers accompanied me so we could have a coffee together. I snapped this Just Joey bloom in our front garden on our return. The bush is looking rather sparse and nothing like its usual glorious self this year, but this bloom appealed to me.
It’s been the perfect day for drying washing; warm, sunny and with a refreshing breeze. Apart from two loads of ordinary washing I also did a quick pre-wash of some double gauze floral fabric from my stash, prior to making myself a dress. I’ve had the fabric for over two years, but have been putting off making a dress with it until I managed to get a pattern I liked and which fitted me. I’ve recently got the sewing bug once again and am determined I’m going to deal with my defeatist behaviour on the fitting front!
I bought a lovely paper pattern a few days ago for a sleeveless summer dress with a tiered skirt, and have decided it’s now or never. So I’ve cut the paper pattern out in my size (I do hate these multi-sized patterns) and have found an old sheet, out of which I shall make a toile. Once I’m happy with the toile then, and only then, will I cut into my precious fabric. Watch this space.
