Northumberland View

A lovely summer’s day – sunshine, blue sky and warmth – just what we needed.

TT headed out to church and I headed out to the supermarket to pick up provisions for a picnic.  I then came home and organised the picnic, did a few job and got myself organised.  When TT re-appeared he decided to go and do some weeding, instead of getting himself ready.  We eventually headed off down the A1 to Northumberland to meet up with TT’s sister and husband.  She had wanted to meet in Galashiels to visit the Great Tapestry of Scotland, but messaged me on Friday to suggest we meet outdoors, as the forecast was for a lovely day.  We changed our plans and met up in Rothbury and it was just glorious.  We had our picnic by the river and then headed off for a lovely walk, high up above the village, with fabulous views of the coquet Valley.  We were all in need of a cool refreshment by the time we got back down to the village.

All too soon we were saying our farewells, agreeing to do the tapestry on a dull autumnal day.  We had a lovely drive home.  BB had half a plan to go out to a friend’s 18th birthday celebration, but he was at home when we got back.  He had decided not go out after all.  I’m not sure why.  TT and I had a wee drink in the sunshine, before I rustled up a quick tea.  BB then disappeared to R’s.  We facetimed TT’s mum, then I went out for a walk, while TT watched the football.

This is a view from our walk, with a couple more in the extras.  I did not go over the stepping stones.
